Storyline
The Washington Capitals will practice today at 11
a.m. at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in preparation for their first meeting of the
season against the Florida Panthers Saturday night at Verizon Center.
Alex Ovechkin scored a goal and added an assist in
last night’s 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh. Ovechkin now has one goal and three
assists during his current three-game point streak. Mike Ribeiro also pitched
in with a goal and an assist and now has five multi-point games this season
while leading Washington in points (13) and ranking tied for 12th in the league
in scoring.
