Storyline
The Washington Capitals will practice today at 10:30
a.m. at Kettler Capitals Iceplex before heading to New York for a nationally
televised contest with the New York Rangers on Sunday at 6 p.m. on NBC Sports
Network, as a part of NBC's Hockey Day in America coverage.
The Capitals currently own their first three-game
winning streak of the season and their first since a stretch of four
consecutive victories from March 8-13 last season. Washington has scored four
or more goals in each of its last three contests, the first time the Capitals
have accomplished that feat since a three-game stretch from Dec. 5-9 of last
season. The Capitals currently rank tied for ninth in the league in goals per
game (2.86).
