Storyline
The Washington Capitals will practice today at 10:30
a.m. at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in preparation for their matchup with the
Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday night.
Washington scored the first goal of the game on Saturday against New Jersey, marking the seventh consecutive contest in which it has tallied the first goal of the game. The Capitals had a streak of nine consecutive games scoring first from 10/29/09-11/14/09.
Washington scored its first shorthanded goal of the
season and first since Brooks Laich on March 11, 2012, against Toronto. Eric
Fehr’s shorthanded tally was the first of his career.
