Today’s Storyline
The Washington Capitals are off today and will hold a morning skate on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

The Capitals are now 12-2-0 this season when scoring three or more goals, following their 5-3 win over Buffalo last night. Alex Ovechkin's goal 0:19 into the game is the fastest goal scored to start a game for the Capitals this season, and the fastest goal scored to start a game in Ovechkin’s career (previous was 0:26 seconds, courtesy of Elias Sports Bureau).

The Capitals scored goals 0:43 seconds apart in the second period, the fastest back-to-back goals scored by Washington this season. The Capitals scored three goals on four shots in 5:22 during the second period.
