Today’s Storyline

The Washington Capitals are off today and will hold a morning skate on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Bell Centre in Montreal.

Last night the Capitals pushed their winning streak to a season-high four games with a 4-2 win over Tampa Bay. Alex Ovechkin scored his 24th goal of the season and added an empty net goal, his 25th of the year, and has now recorded 16g-7a in his last 14 games. Ovechkin currently ranks tied for first in the league in goals (Stamkos).

Nicklas Backstrom assisted on Ovechkin’s first goal for his 300th career assist. Backstrom has tallied 1g-10a in his last six contests.
