Caps Today, 4/24/13

Today’s Storyline

The Washington Capitals will practice today at 11 a.m. at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

Last night the Capitals clinched their sixth-straight playoff berth, marking the longest streak of playoff appearances in franchise history since their 14-straight postseason trips from the 1982-83 season through 1995-96. The streak of six straight playoff appearances is tied for the fourth-longest active playoff streak in the NHL. Washington has won five of the last six Southeast Division titles, joining Vancouver as the only two teams to have won five division titles in the last six seasons. In the Southeast Division’s 14-season existence, the Capitals captured the division crown seven times, the most of any other franchise.
