Mike Green scored two goals on Saturday against the Minnesota Wild, marking the 15th multi-goal game of his career. Green’s two-goal performance moved him past Scott Stevens (98) for fourth place in franchise history in goals by a defenseman. The Calgary, Alberta, native now sits just one goal shy of 100 NHL/Capitals goals and one assist shy of 200 NHL/Capitals assists. Green ranks first among Washington defenseman in points (21) and assists (16) this season and ranks second on the team in ice time (23:12).


Caps Prospects at WJC

Andre Burakovsky (SWE) – Earned a silver medal with Sweden and finished the tournament ranked tied for fourth on the team in points (7) and tied for second in goals (3).

Christian Djoos (SWE) – Scored a goal and earned an assist in Sweden’s 3-2 (OT) loss to Finland on Jan. 5. Earned a silver medal with Sweden and finished the tournament with two goals and two assists in seven games.
