Capitals Re-assign Center Michael Latta to Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have re-assigned center Michael Latta to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Latta, 22, made his NHL debut against Chicago on Oct. 1 at United Center. The Kitchener, Ont., native earned his first NHL point with an assist on Nov. 2 against Florida and scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 15 at Detroit. Latta has registered four points (one goal, three assists) and 12 penalty minutes in 17 career NHL games with Washington.

The 6’0”, 212-pound center has played in 12 games with the Bears this season, collecting seven points (three goals, four assists) and 60 penalty minutes. In 143 career AHL games with Milwaukee and Hershey, Latta has registered 73 points (27 goals, 46 assists) and 360 penalty minutes.
