Posted on September 14, 2013 by Caps PR

The Capitals head to Belleville, Ont. today to play former Southeast Division rival Winnipeg in the NHL’s Kraft Hockeyville game (7 p.m., TV: NHLN, CBC). The game will be played at Yardmen Arena, the 3,257-seat home of the OHL’s Belleville Bulls.

Washington has won four-straight regular-season games against Winnipeg and are 42-25-5-7 against the Jets franchise all-time. Alex Ovechkin led all Capitals skaters in points against Winnipeg last season, recording nine points (4g, 5a) in five games. Nicklas Backstrom collected eight points (2g, 6a) in five games and Marcus Johansson registered five points (1g, 4a) in four games.

The Capitals will play in eight preseason games this year, including three home games at Verizon Center. Washington is 17-7-2 in preseason games since 2008-09.
